Lt. Latimore and Sgt. Moore from the Community Engagement team completed Choosing Healthy Activities and Methods Promoting Safety (C.H.A.M.P.S.) training with the Georgia Sheriff’s Association. C.H.A.M.P.S. aims to build a better relationship between the community, students, and law enforcement. In addition, C.H.A.M.P.S. advocates for safety in local schools and communities. Lt. Latimore and Sgt. Moore are now ready to go into schools and mentor students about alcohol and drug use, stress, bullying, peer pressure, water safety, gangs, and more. We are thrilled to mentor students while they are young, so we never have to encounter them through the justice system when they’re older.
