The Atlanta Braves' Max Fried has played in an exemplary manner this season, and was recently named the National League Pitcher of the Month.
"Fried was nearly untouchable down the stretch," MLB.com said.
Fried allowed just one earned run over his final three starts, spanning 23 innings, including a Sept. 24 shutout of the San Diego Padres.
Over six starts during the month, he registered a 1.54 ERA, to help the Braves secure their fourth consecutive NL East title.
Fried is the first Braves hurler to win the award since Kris Medlen in September 2013.
