Atlanta Falcons cornerback Isaiah Oliver will be out for the remaining season owing to a knee injury during the team's 34-30 loss to Washington.
After being carried off the field Oct. 3, Oliver was placed on the injured reserve, according to a team news release. He was playing nickelback in his fourth season and was injured rushing the quarterback.
"I can't say enough good things about him as a pro and a teammate. He's really bought in, was having a good year. That's the crappy part about this game," Falcons coach Arthur Smith told The Athletic.
According to Pro Football Reference, Oliver allowed 53.3% of the passes thrown at him to be completed. Aside from that, he recorded three pass breakups, one fumble recovery, one forced fumble and nine tackles.
After Oliver's injury, the Falcons will likely turn to rookie Avery Williams, according to ESPN.
The Falcons have signed some new players to the practice squad, including Shawn Williams and Elliot Fry, ESPN reported.
