After a hot start, Georgia Tech's women's volleyball rank remains unchanged.
The team has achieved and retained a No. 18 rank as a 9-1 program in the latest Top 25 poll, which came out Sept. 20, according to a Tech press release. The ranking comes after a good couple of weeks in which they defeated Arkansas and rival Georgia in the ACC/SEC Challenge, the release said.
This week's ranking continues an impressive streak for the Yellow Jackets, having been ranked in 27 straight Top 25 polls, the release said. The streak began on Sept. 30, 2020. Fellow Atlantic Coast Conference teams Pitt and Louisville came in at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively, in the latest poll.
The Yellow Jackets look to build on their success this season after a 9-1 overall start, five straight wins and an undefeated 7-0 record against SEC rival Arkansas, the release said. Their only loss of the season was to No. 19 UCLA.
According to the release, standout individuals on the team include junior outside hitter Julia Bergmann (AVCA Player of the Week, ACC Player of the Week, UCF Challenge MVP), freshman outside hitter Bianca Bertolino (ACC Freshman of the Week twice, all-tournament teams twice), senior right-side hitter Mariana Brambilla (all-tournament teams three times) and senior setter Matti McKissock (all-tournament team once).
