FOIA Request to Dekalb County Regarding Vendor Payments from January to September 2024.
In a bid to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at DeKalb Times have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Dekalb County. The request, dated September 26, 2024, seeks access to records of all payments made to vendors within the period of January 1, 2024, till September 26, 2024.
The requested records should ideally include the following fields: Vendor Name, Transaction Date, Transaction Description, and Amount. This information is crucial in our ongoing effort to hold public institutions accountable and provide transparency to the public.
As a media organization committed to gathering and reporting news to the public, we believe that access to such public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. We have also expressed our eligibility for a fee waiver as media professionals in the request.
