PLEIN AIR PAINTING IN WATERCOLOR with Kathy Rennell Forbes 

Learn how to quickly find a location and set-up your plein air watercolor supplies. Kathy will share her thoughts and experiences with a live demo during the morning. We will break for lunch; afterwards you will sketch and paint. Kathy will offer individual assistance as needed and requested. Focus will be on finding the spot, creating thumbnails and painting a watercolor in plein air on the beautiful grounds of the Alpharetta Arts Center.

Underpainting Technique in Watercolor for Pastel Artists with Becky Postell 

Join Becky Postell in this one-day intensive workshop. Students will be instructed in how to produce an underpainting in watercolor on Uart Paper and then continue to add pastel in a manner to keep some of the underpainting exposed.

Plein air workshop with Brenda Pinnick 

A one-day plein air workshop will begin with a demo by instructor in the morning then a student painting in the afternoon. Instructor will focus on beginning with a strong design,  maintaining a value structure to create a strong sense of time and place. We will also discuss personal color choices and how to use them in creative expression. Finish with an optional critique.

Color Simplified Workshop with Stephen Greer  

The objective of this class is to explore color mixing using the color wheel and a limited palette. Instructor will do a demonstration painting and guide students in mixing colors and using them to execute their own painting. A limited palette helps create color harmony, saves time, and reduces supply needs for the plein-air artist.
