The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit is constantly training to learn, and remain on top of, the elite skills necessary to protect our community. Recently, the team got the chance to take part in in a K9 Medical Rescue Class. During this course, the unit was shown how to care for their K9 partners when out in the field, in the event of an incident. This training enables deputies to stabilize their K9’s injuries, until they are able to reach an emergency vet.
Deputies were shown how to bandage a K9 for a wounded leg, assess their K9 for injury, and how to correctly pick up and carry an injured K9. The K-9 Unit says the class was amazing, and every body involved had a wonderful time learning how to care for their K-9 partner.
