We continually receive calls about vehicles traveling at excessive speeds within the city. While we understand that driving fast can be a thrill, we also know that it is incredibly irresponsible, especially in areas with pedestrian and bicycle traffic.
As you can see from the infographic, even a slower speed of around 30mph increases the probability of a fatal accident with a pedestrian or cyclist. In 2022 we saw an increase nationwide in fatalities of both pedestrians and cyclists from being struck by a vehicle.
Helps us save lives by obeying the speed limits set within our city. The thrill of speed is not worth a life.
