Bond was recently denied for a man accused of killing a Tires Plus employee on New Year’s Eve, after telling police he shot the victim because he thought he was attempting to steal his vehicle.
Daniel Gordon, 24, whom coworkers described as “ambitious,” was killed in a shooting outside the tire shop, according to a Jan. 2 Fox 5 Atlanta report. The shooting occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.
"Just being able to teach somebody who was so interested. He wanted to move up and become an A-Tech like me. He would ask so many questions," a co-worker told Fox 5.
According to the report, Quadarius McDowell, 30, fled the scene after the shooting and was found hiding nearby. He has been charged with malice murder and made his first Superior Court appearance Jan. 2 where he was remanded to custody.
A growing memorial honoring Gordon has been set up at DeKalb Industrial Way where Gordon was fatally wounded, according to the report.
“Everybody is talking about it. Everybody is so sad about it," one of Gordon’s coworkers said.
