Two men have been charged for their role in a major drug operation following a year-long probe into illegal drug activity in South Fulton, Georgia.
With the use of multiple search warrants, authorities in conjunction with the South Metro Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team seized multiple items, according to a Fox 5 Atlanta report.
"The South Fulton Police Department is committed to working with our law enforcement partners to stop drugs from infiltrating our community," said Police Chief, Keith Meadows. "Drug dealers will be held responsible for their actions through proactive enforcement such as this."
Following the search of a residence in the 3400 block of Lee Place where multiple search warrants were executed, the department’s narcotics and gang units, as well as the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s West Metro Regional Drug Enforcement Office arrested two men, Fox 5 reported.
Police seized two handguns, 92 grams of mushrooms, 47 grams of cocaine, 301 grams of liquid promethazine, $110 and 6.7 pounds of marijuana (3,047 grams), according to Fox 5.
The warrants carried charges that included possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a Schedule I Narcotic with intent to distribute, trafficking cocaine, trafficking amphetamines, possession of a Schedule III Narcotic, possession of drug-related objects and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to authorities.
