Georgia Tech Sports Information confirmed that sophomore Andrew Jenkins and redshirt senior John Medich were chosen for the 2022 Academic All-District first team.

The Yellow Jackets were one of two Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) teams to have more than one selection, a recent release on ramblinwreck.com said. The ACC had seven selections overall.

"Georgia Tech baseball sophomore Andrew Jenkins and redshirt senior John Medich were selected to the 2022 Academic All-District First Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced," the release said.

Jenkins got his first selection to the all-district first team while notching a 3.79 GPA in the classroom in his third year of Georgia Tech's business administration program. This season he is hitting .388 with 13 home runs, 18 doubles and 53 RBIs and is among the national leaders in many categories.

Medich finished his master’s degree with a 3.81 GPA in quantitative and computational finance. He is only the second student athlete to be in that program at Georgia Tech. A pitcher, Medich has a 5.2 ERA. This was also his first all-district honor.

This is the third time in the past ten years that Georgia Tech has had multiple players on the all-district team and the fifth time since the 70's, the release said.
