TRAVEL ADVISORY: State Route 9 in Alpharetta – April 23 - 24
Travel on State Route 9 in Alpharetta will be reduced to a single southbound lane between Maxwell Road and Brady Place this Saturday and Sunday, April 23 - 24. Northbound motorists will be detoured from SR9 along Wills Road, Hembree Road, and Maxwell Road to get around the affected area.
The closure of all lanes except a single southbound lane is necessary as Georgia Power replaces two utility poles located between Maxwell Road and Brady Place. The work, which is related to the Georgia Department of Transportation's project to improve State Route 9, requires the use of a large crane that will occupy three lanes of the roadway.
Motorists are strongly urged to avoid the area, if possible, as heavy congestion and travel delays are anticipated. On-site signage, police officers, and flaggers will direct drivers and pedestrians through the area.
