Geoff Collins, the head football coach at Georgia Tech, recently announced the addition of David Turner to his staff as an associate head coach for defense and defensive run game coordinator, according to the college's website.
Turner has 36 years of college coaching experience, 30 of which have been spent teaching defensive linemen and linebackers at the Power Five level.
"He has spent almost his entire career coaching successful front sevens at the Power Five level," Collins stated on the school's official page. "His experience, knowledge and track record of success will make him a huge asset for our players and coaches alike.”
Turner, who has coached at Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Kentucky, Alabama and Vanderbilt, joins Georgia Tech following three seasons as the University of Florida's defensive line coach.
Additionally, he has coached over 15 National Football League draft selections, including first-round picks Fletcher Cox of Mississippi State and Virginia's Patrick Kerney.
“I couldn’t be happier to welcome Coach David Turner, his wife, Yvette, and his daughters, Bianca and Alexyia, to the Georgia Tech football family,” Collins said. “I’m excited to work with Coach Turner once again.
Between 2013 to 2014, Collins and Turner coached together at Mississippi State as defensive coordinator and defensive line coach, respectively.
