Georgia Tech basketball player Lorela Cubaj has ranked among the 10 power forwards on the 2022 Katrina McClain Award watchlist.
The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced the list last week, Georgia Tech reported.
"If there's a LIST, she's on it," Georgia Tech women's basketball said on Twitter. She has also been named to the midseason Wade Trophy watchlist.
Cubaj, who is averaging 10.4 points and 11.4 rebounds per game for the season, has also been mentioned on the Naismith watchlists for Women's Player of the Year and Women's Defensive Player of the Year, Georgia Tech reported.
The Katrina McClain Award, now in its fifth year, owes its name to the 1987 National Player of the Year, Georgia Tech reported. It serves to acknowledge the best power forwards in women's college basketball.
Cubaj has helped the Yellow Jackets earn a 19-7 record overall, Georgia Tech reported. They are 10-5 in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and have to gain some ground if they want a better seeding in next month's ACC Tournament.
