This month, Jullian "JuJu" Lewis became the 14th member of Georgia Tech football's incoming class of true freshmen by signing a letter-of-intent to attend the school and play football.
The signing was highly anticipated, as Lewis has become famous around the country for his burst and speed, making him a dangerous weapon in almost any scheme.
Georgia Tech Head Coach Geoff Collins spoke excitedly about the signing, saying, “We’re excited to officially welcome Jullian to the Georgia Tech football family. We’re very pleased with our talented group of newcomers, which currently includes 14 incoming true freshmen and seven transfers. They are all great young men that have a chance to be special players on the football field. I can’t wait to get back to work on the field with our group in less than three weeks and to welcome our entire team to The Flats this summer.”
Georgia Tech has had a highly successful offseason so far, signing 13 recruits in December's early signing period. Of those 13 that were signed, eight of them were four-star, highly touted recruits.
This represents the Yellow Jackets' second-highest concentration of four-star recruits since rankings started being tracked in 2002. This incoming class trails only the very famous 2007 recruiting class which included future stars for Georgia Tech.
Adding to their successful offseason are seven transfer players that enrolled at Tech. The incoming group of transfers is currently ranked at No. 20 nationally by 247Sports.
The scouting report on Lewis is as follows:
"Rated as a three-star prospect by Rivals, 247Sports and ESPN … Playing in one of the most talent-rich areas in the nation for prep football, was named first-team all-Broward County by the South Florida Sun Sentinel and Miami Herald as a senior in 2021 … Caught 77 passes for 1,260 yards and 14 touchdowns during senior campaign … Amassed 148 receptions, 2,378 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns during prep career, which included 49 catches for 795 yards and seven scores as a sophomore at Stranahan H.S. (Fort Lauderdale), where he was named third-team 5A all-state … Played at Western with fellow Georgia Tech signee DB Jaylin Marshall … Coached at Western by Adam Ratkevich."
