Defensive specialist Cara Bianco has been signed by Georgia Tech volleyball coach Michelle Collier.
Bianco was a four-year letter winner during her time at Blessed Trinity High School, where the team won four consecutive regional championships as well as a state title in 2019 during her sophomore year, Georgia Tech reported on their site.
"I am excited for Cara to join our program," Collier said. "She has competed at a very high level during her club and high school career and is going to bring in lots of talent and winning experience into our gym."
Prior to her arrival at Georgia Tech, Bianco had been selected for two all-region teams, two all-state teams, and the American Volleyball Coaches Association's Best and Brightest team of 2021, among several other accolades, Georgia Tech reported.
Bianco, originally from Milton, Georgia, was the team captain during her senior year in high school, Georgia Tech reported. She excelled during her time playing on club teams as well, winning medals at the 13 Open American Athletic Union (AAU) nationals, 15 Open AAU nationals, 17 Open AAU nationals and 17 Open USA Volleyball nationals. Bianco put up impressive individual stats as well, accumulating more than 1,000 digs in her career.
Bianco, a magna cum laude honoree, was involved in the community in her hometown, volunteering with organizations such as Meals by Grace, Habitat for Humanity and the St. Peregrine Club, Georgia Tech reported. Bianco's major during her time at Georgia Tech will likely be business administration.
