Trae Young, point guard for the Atlanta Hawks, has been named the Eastern Conference player of the week for the fifth time in his career.
Young averaged 31.3 points, nine assists and four rebounds per game this week, leading the Hawks to win all four of their games, the NBA reported.
"Ice cold. Your Eastern Conference Player of the Week," the Hawks said on Twitter.
Young has now played 41 career games of at least 30 points and 10 assists, now ranking 10th in league history in that category, the NBA reported. Young is the league's only player to rank in the top five in both points and assists per game.
Young has also been named an All-Star starter for the second time in his career, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. He is now the sixth Hawk to start more than one All-Star Game, along with Lou Hudson, Eddie Johnson, Pete Maravich, Dikembe Mutombo and Dominique Wilkins.
The next All-Star Game will be held on Feb. 20 in Cleveland. Due to earning the most fan votes in every conference, the team captains this year will be LeBron James and Kevin Durant, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. NBA coaches will be choosing the reserves.
