Atlanta United beats FC Cincinnati 2-1, secures postseason berth

Despite an early deficit, Atlanta United beat FC Cincinnati 2-1 on Nov. 7 and managed to secure a berth on the last day of the regular season, according to atlutd.com.

“We need to try to push forward for that playoff match at home, and that’s the mentality of the team and that’s what they have in their minds,” head coach Gonzalo Pineda told the website.

It was the fourth straight playoff berth for Atlanta United, according to atlutd.com.

Atlanta United completes the season in fifth place in the Eastern Conference with 51 points. 

Atlanta United won three points in FC Cincinnati win to secure postseason post outright. 

Cincinnati’s lead on Nov. 7 occurred at the 21st minute with a score by Zico Bailey, according to the Associated Press. Miles Robinson scored one for the Hawks at the 70th minute, and Josef Martínez gave the team their first lead in the 79th minute at 2-1, AP reported.
