Judge Brian Amero has dismissed a Fulton County case seeking a review of 147,000 absentee ballots amid claims of alleged fraud during the 2020 election.
Fulton County Board of Commissioners Chairman Robb Pitts tweeted Wednesday, responding to the news the ballot review case had been dismissed.
“Joe Biden won, Donald Trump lost – it’s time for the other side to face the facts and move on,” Pitts wrote in his tweet.
The lawsuit, filed in December by nine Georgia voters, alleged evidence of fraudulent ballots and improper ballot counting in Fulton County, according to a report by the Associated Press.
Amero dismissed the case, stating it “failed to allege a particularized injury,” the Associated Press reported. The result was celebrated by Pitts, who told AP the decision was a “win for democracy”, claiming the lawsuit had been the result of conspiracy theories from people who couldn’t accept they had lost.
According to the article, Garland Favorito, who spearheaded the lawsuit, plans to appeal the judge’s decision, stating evidence has been prepared to support their allegations. He told AP it is not adequate to not let the public inspect the ballots after simply claiming none had been counterfeited.
