The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) announced student-athletes honored as the ACC Cross Country Performers of the Week, and Sarah Copeland reserved a place for the second time this season. The Georgia Tech runner was named the ACC Women's Co-Freshman of the Week.
"Copeland won the Alexander/Asics Invitational by nearly four seconds and finished 36.36 seconds ahead of the closest true freshman," the school said in a press release.
In the Alexander/Asics Invitational, Copeland was three seconds faster than her previous personal best.
Copeland has attributed her success this season to her teammates, who helped her get ready for it, the release said.
Copeland comes back from Kennesaw State Opener, which went well for her as she acquired the fourth position overall in the 4K race with a time of 14:19:6.
