In his 14th season in the NFL, the Falcons' Matt Ryan has surpassed 1,000 career rushing yards. The highly esteemed quarterback ran the triple option when he played in high school at William Penn Charter High School in Philadelphia, but isn't known to scamper all that often in the NFL, according to a team news release.
When asked about his rushing prowess, Ryan said, "I've always moved better than people think, It's not great but it's good enough. I feel comfortable doing those kinds of things," according to the release.
Though he's never been known for his rushing ability, he has racked up all kinds of yards through the air during his time in the NFL, the release said. Ryan has thrown 4,000 yards in the last 10 season, and on Sunday, he became the NFL's all time passing leader.
Ryan isn't dwelling too much on the record and his mind has already turned to the next contest against the Giants. When asked about the upcoming matchup, he said that his Falcons just need to continue doing what they have been doing, him included, the release said.
