Fulton County Library recently issued the following announcement.
The Auburn Avenue Research Library welcomes Hari Ziyad, who in conversation W.J. Lofton, will discuss their latest publication, Black Boy Out of Time. An eloquent coming of age memoir by one of the most thought-provoking journalists today, Black Boy Out of Time is interspersed with letters to their inner child, culminating in a montage of growing awareness, abolitionist practice, tenderness, and queer love. Exploring childhood, gender, race, and the trust that is built, broken, and repaired through generations, Ziyad investigates what it means to live beyond the limited narratives Black children are given and challenges the irreconcilable binaries that restrict them.
