Library

Fulton County Government issued the following announcement on May 26.

FulcoLibrary announces all 32 branches libraries and the Auburn Avenue Research Library will now be open to the public Monday - Saturday.

The Fulton County Library System has announced the full time reopening of 32 branch libraries, as well as the Auburn Avenue Research Library on African American Culture and History on Tuesday, June 1st.

During this second phase of the Library’s reopening plan, all 32 branch libraries, as well as the Auburn Avenue Research Library on African American History and Culture will open full time for in-person services. In-person services will be available on Mondays and Tuesdays from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Wednesdays - Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Computer use will continue to be available to all patrons for one hour per day, six days a week.

During this phase of the Library’s reopening, the Library would like to remind patrons of some important changes:

  • Curbside Services will no longer be available.
  • Meeting, conference and study rooms will remain closed.
  • Patrons are asked to wear masks (regardless of vaccination status) and maintain social distancing.
  • Self-serve options will remain in place and are recommended for in-branch services like self-checkout machines for paying fines and fees.
In addition to the full-time reopening, FulcoLibrary will kick off their annual Summer Reading Program, with this year’s theme, Tails and Tales on June 1st. Libraries across the system will celebrate with activities like outdoor storytime (with mask and social distancing measures in place), take-home activities and streaming storytimes. "We have had a wonderful time welcoming patrons back inside the library over the last four weeks and look forward to making this opening full time,” said Library Director Gayle Holloman. "Seeing adults and children alike browsing the shelves and discovering new books to read, in person, has been as exciting for us, as it has been to our guests. As things continue to improve with the pandemic numbers, we hope to add even more services in the coming months. For now, we are thrilled to have the communities we serve back inside for the summer.”
