A lawsuit has been filed in Fulton County that seeks to review absentee ballots in the county. The judge overseeing the case may allow the suit, following a proposal of the review process.

Garland Favorito, who calls himself a voting-integrity advocate, alleges that “county workers likely fabricated ballots and counted some ballots multiple times on election night,” AJC reported. His case is among several accusations of fraud during the November 2020 election. Judge Brian Amero said he can’t order a review until he can ensure there’s a reasonable and proper method proposed.

No evidence of voter fraud in Georgia has been produced.

Several bills have been filed to ensure election integrity, including Senate Bill 67, which will mandate voters to present identifications for absentee voting which some advocacy groups say suppresses voter right and Democrats argue that it aims to overturn their party's recent electoral victories in the state.

“It’s not about disenfranchising voters," bill sponsor Sen. Larry Walker (R-Perry) told the Associated Press. "It’s not about overly burdening the electorate. It’s about efficiency, integrity, allowing the Georgia public to have confidence in the vote."

Sen. Bill Cowsert (R-Athens), one of the 26 senators supporting the bill, told the Associated Press: "Give people the totals. Let people have the peace of mind that nothing's being done in the dark of night."

Gov. Brian Kemp, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and other Republicans support restoring voter confidence through several proposed changes including SB 67.

In order to rebuild trust in the Georgia election, former U.S. Sen. Kelly Loeffler pointed out in an op-ed in The Washington Examiner that "there’s another group we must engage with our positive message: registered but unengaged or disillusioned voters."

She added,  "A staggering 2.5 million already registered voters in Georgia did not vote in the November general election. And, in the final analysis, 500,000 voters who voted in November did not vote in the January runoff, the vast majority of whom were Republicans. This is why so many of us are confident that this is still a red state, but also that there is much more room to grow."

The bill has advanced to the House for more debate.
