Democrat Michelle Au has won her election bid for Senate District 48, defeating Republican opponent Matt Reeves.
Au expressed gratitude on her Facebook page on Nov. 4.
“This morning, the eyes of the nation are on Georgia. And while we continue to wait for all the ballots to be counted, I’m honored to announce that my race has been called, and that I’ve been elected to be the next State Senator for District 48.”
Reeves accepted defeat on his Facebook page.
“Losses are disappointing, but in me you have a grateful and thankful candidate for all of the time, dedication, contributions of resources and heart and soul that friends in Gwinnett and North Fulton invested in the Senate District 48 campaign. Thank You from the bottom of my heart.”
